Welcome to Aspenglow Farms
When we built Aspenglow Farms, we set out to create a beautifully landscaped, 3 bedroom home. Part of country living is being able to enjoy the outdoor view from every room, so we designed the home with an open floor plan and included large windows to let in natural light and provide beautiful views of our property.
We wanted a place that would provide the right atmosphere to accommodate our interest in horses, hunting, and country living. We also desired a place that would be a great environment to raise our family. We found all of this and more in this wonderful neighborhood that we call home.
This private 7.80 acre lot outside Durango off Paradise Valley Road in the Paradise Valley Subdivision extends down to and across a small portion of the Little Maquoketa River by means of a former "tractor road". This mostly wooded acreage contains lots of wildlife such as eagles, turkey, deer, an occasional fox, brown and black squirrels, and many other birds and woodland animals. Many walnut trees are an additional asset that are growing on this property, and for people who love morels, this is a great place for hunting of this type as well.
The patio off the kitchen dining area is constructed of patio blocks and includes a decorative wall for additional seating and provides an area for a grill and patio set.
Just off the patio is a two-tiered waterfall pond, landscaped into the hillside in the back yard. There are peach and apple trees and plenty of space to put in a garden. You will find a192 SqFt garden shed, along with a 12’ x 24’ pole barn with a hay storage area that was constructed for our horses.
Entry to the front door is by way of a pergola, and the sidewalk leads to a porch that extends all along the front of the house. From spring through fall, there are daffodils, iris, rhododendrons, clematis, daylilies, spirea, rosebushes, mums and other perennials. Planters in the landscape area and on the porch provide a place for planting annuals of your choice. Low voltage path and spotlight landscape lighting gives just the right amount of lighting for evening hours.
The french door was replaced in 2016 with a Taylor door that has sliding windows with a screen to let in fresh air. This door opens wide to allow easy access to the cold cellar / storm shelter that sits just under and runs the full length of the front porch. There is ample room to store any lawn and garden products you may want to bring inside in the winter, along with large items, such as your patio table and chairs.
Quality Construction & Custom Cabinetry
You will find quality construction with custom trim throughout this home. Custom built cabinets were designed to provide additional space in the great room and kitchen. Hardwood floors were installed in the Dining Room and Great Room, and ceramic tile runs throughout the entry, kitchen and laundry room. There is a first floor laundry/mud room coming in from the garage and a welcoming front Porch runs along the entire length of the front of the house.
Custom cabinets, along with the hall pantry, provide ample storage for all kitchen essentials. The breakfast bar provides seating for three and there is additional floor space for your kitchen table set just off the breakfast bar.
The formal dining room, with hardwood floors, has a chandelier and accommodates a table large enough to comfortably seat eight guests and adjoins the kitchen.
Surrounding the fireplace, the custom bookcase and display cabinets complement the hardwood floors of the Great Room. This room is open from the front to the back of the house and allows for multiple furniture group arrangements.
With over 214 square feet, the Master bedroom area is a spacious place for you to relax. The additional 12’x13’ area in the master suite contains an open closet and the master bath includes a whirlpool tub, separate shower and has ceramic tile floors.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 are generously sized and both have large closets with full-length, mirrored, sliding glass doors and ceiling fans.
The vaulted ceilings give the Library area a roomy feel and overlooks the foyer. The large window provides a view of the front yard and the woods beyond.
